I was watching Merdeka Round Table talk on Awani just now, I was really inspired. The talks evolves around the innovation culture in Malaysian society. A society that shine down on being different and where the elders knows best.
I am really attracted to a UTM professor had state that UTM is now the most innovative university as they are emulating a flexible course. They do have a fix 'menu' on what to study on a course that you've chosen but they also has a non-fix menu of studies. Which is kind of cool. I wish the time when I was studying in UKM I had that kind of choice.
I laugh at Tony Fernandez when he told that during recruiting they gave candidates a plane to be coloured. Those that colours it nicely aren't chosen but those who had 'wild' crazy ways are chosen! He said we want people with disruptive ideas. Hahaha!!
They also discuss on letting our children to explore the world, makes mistake and follow their heart in shaping their life. They also had a program of sending students over sea for a week to experience other culture and it really changed their perspective. On this I do agree, exposer does funny things to your brain and thinking.
On this I decided to start bag packing and travel the world. Bringing with me a small digital camera to capture the scenery that I saw when travelling. In high hope to change my world view and be more open.
